  • Constant Billy featured on MOVIE SOUNDTRACK!
    Filmmaker David Mailman has just featured Constant Billy in the soundtrack to his brand-new movie, "A Life of the Sea: the Jim Manzolillo Story." It's a fascinating look at the life story of the founder of the Houston Maritime Museum and closes with CB singing the old shanty "Santiano." On to Hollywood!

    We've just learned that we're getting airplay on the world's pre-eminent folk radio station, the 24-hour-a-day DR.DK from Denmark. DR.DK airs folk music from around the world, with an emphasis on singer/songwriter and Celtic music. They've been playing selections from our CD "Let Me In." Saturday September 4, 2010 from 7:30-10pm we'll be at Waldo's Coffee House 1030 Heights Blvd, Houston, TX 77008-6914 (713) 869-0700 in the Houston Heights. Waldo’s is a comfy and intimate space just right for grabbing a cuppa Joe and a sandwich in a relaxed atmosphere. We always seem to have folks singing along and bantering with us from the audience at Waldo’s, and that’s what music is all about. Our fave coffee house in Houston. No cover; $5 per head to BYOB.

Saturday September 18 2010 at 6pm Emily & Bill host the “Irish Aires” radio show at KPFT, 90.1FM in Houston. Best Celtic radio show in the universe. Ever.

Sunday September 19, 2010 3-7pm Cleo The Cat’s Birthday Party at L’Alliance Française , 427 Lovett Boulevard, Houston, TX 77006 713-526-1121. This is a benefit for Rescue Bank , a non-profit organization that supports more than 70 animal rescue and rehabilitation groups by providing services and supplies. From humble beginnings, Cleo’s Birthday Party has grown into one of the premier charity events in Houston, while remaining very casual and gentle on the budget. Besides Constant Billy, entertainment will include pop phenom Chase Hamblin, plus food and drink donated by local restaurants and distributors, a great silent auction and much more. $10 suggested donation for adults; kids are free. L’Alliance Française is one block south of Westheimer at the corner of Lovett Boulevard and Whitney (click here for map).

Saturday September 25, 2010 9-11am Urban Harvest Farmers Market in the parking lot behind 3000 Richmond at Eastside in Houston. The Urban Harvest Farmers Market is the largest in the Houston area and includes local small-scale produce growers as well as family farms producing grass-fed meats, local honey, cage-free eggs and much more. Sunday September 26, 2010 1-6pm Irish Aires All-Day Extravaganza with Constant Billy, Blaggards & Murder the Stout at Dan Electro’s Guitar Bar in Houston..
We’ll be joined by our good friends Blaggards, Murder The Stout and The O'Maoileidigh Irish Dancers to raise funds for the Irish Aires radio show at KPFT 90.1FM. Irish Aires will provide a huge picnic out in Dan Electro’s back yard, with hot dogs, hamburgers, Vegan Dogs, potato and macaroni salad, cole slaw and baked beans. Beer, wine and soda can be purchased at the bar and you are welcome to BYOB. $10 gets you Houston’s Best Celtic entertainment and food, too! Come join us for a good cause and a good time! Fiddler’s Green started life as a music store and somehow morphed into one of Austin’s best acoustic concert halls, in a town that takes these things seriously.
